Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Flextron Global LLC ("Zap-Phone," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Zap-Phone mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
SMS messaging & your phone number — the short version. We do not sell your information, and we will never share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in/consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate the Service (such as our messaging carrier), and only as described below.
SMS program disclosures
Program. Zap-Phone (published by Flextron Global LLC) sends you a one-time opt-in confirmation and occasional account and service notifications tied to your Zap-Phone number; all other messages are user-initiated, person-to-person conversational texts.
- How you opt in. Consent is collected in-app only. Before any number is provisioned, you are shown an SMS consent disclosure and must tap "Agree & Continue" to proceed. There is no website form, call center, or third-party list.
- Message frequency. Message frequency varies with your activity.
- Rates. Message & data rates may apply.
- Opt out. Reply STOP at any time to stop messages from Zap-Phone, or release your number in the app. After you opt out, we will send no further messages from Zap-Phone.
- Help. Reply HELP, email support@zap-phone.com, or visit zap-phone.com for support.
- No sharing. We will never share your mobile number or SMS opt-in/consent information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect the identifier from your chosen login method — a relay or verified email address via Sign in with Apple, or the email address you verify with a one-time code.
Phone numbers
We collect and store the second-line phone number(s) you obtain through the Service and associate them with your account.
Message content and metadata
To deliver SMS, we process the content of the messages you send and receive, along with metadata such as the sending and receiving phone numbers, timestamps, and delivery status. This information is necessary to route your messages through the carrier network and to show your conversations in the app.
Contacts you create in the app
If you save or name contacts within Zap-Phone, or import contacts you select, we store that information to display it in your conversations. We access your device address book only if and when you choose to import a contact.
Purchase information
Purchases of prepaid credits and blocks are processed by Apple. We receive confirmation of a purchase and the associated entitlement, but we do not receive or store your payment card details.
Device and usage information
We collect technical information needed to operate the Service, such as a push notification token (to deliver message alerts), IP address, and server logs used for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service — assign numbers, send and receive your messages, and display your conversations and contacts.
- To process prepaid credits and blocks and apply your entitlements.
- To send you message notifications via push.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To provide customer support.
- To comply with legal obligations and lawful requests.
3. How we share information
We share information only as follows:
- Messaging carrier. To send and receive your texts, message content and the relevant phone numbers are transmitted to and through our telecommunications provider (Telnyx) and the destination mobile carriers. This is inherent to delivering SMS.
- Apple. For authentication (Sign in with Apple) and for processing in-app purchases.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and process data on our behalf to run the Service.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or other lawful request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Zap-Phone, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
No sale or marketing sharing of mobile data. We do not sell your personal information. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in/consent data are not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with the service providers above is limited to operating and delivering the Service.
4. Data retention
We retain message content and metadata for as long as your account is active so that your conversations are available to you, and we delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period after you delete a conversation or close your account, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction and financial records, or information needed to comply with law, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse). Numbers released back to the carrier may be retained in a recycled state by the carrier independently of us.
5. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
You can review and delete contacts and conversations in the app, and you can delete your account, which removes your associated personal data subject to the retention exceptions above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" (we do neither for marketing). California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact support@zap-phone.com.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you use it from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
